Where does Buffalo’s startup scene stand today? How is Techstars working with the Western New York community to take our entrepreneurial ecosystem to the next level? Find out during the Techstars Buffalo Assessment Public Readout on Thursday, May 30 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Hotel Henry in Buffalo.

Earlier this year, Techstars announced a partnership with 43North to bring its inaugural Startup Ecosystem Development Program to Buffalo. The Techstars team began this initiative by conducting an assessment of Buffalo’s startup community, based on more than 60 stakeholder interviews, an online survey, and extensive secondary research. During the event on May 30, Techstars representatives, including Techstars Buffalo’s new Executive Director Jack Greco, will share the results of the assessment. They’ll also lay out a roadmap for the actions that Techstars will take to grow the ecosystem, such as providing mentorship to Buffalo startups, including 43North’s portfolio companies; coaching and facilitating interactions with Western New York mentors, community leaders, investors, and potential investors; producing year-round events and programming; forging connections with Techstars’ global network of mentors, investors and founders; and conducting ongoing measurement of the progress of Buffalo’s startup community.

The event is free and open to the public, but registration, which can be found here, is required.

“43North is proud to partner with Techstars on its inaugural Startup Ecosystem Development Program,” said 43North President Alex Gress. “As Western New York’s entrepreneurial ecosystem continues to grow, and more Buffalonians find their roles in supporting startups, we will be laying the groundwork for new jobs and greater prosperity for community – not just for today, but for generations to come.”

43North is thankful to have the support of Empire State Development, M&T Bank, National Grid, the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation, Viaduct and several other organizations.
