Re-post from The Buffalo News
Keeping kids engaged while parents work from home – a familiar challenge nowadays – was the $10,000 first-place project in 43North’s “Code:Buffalo” hackathon.
Creative Kidz captured the top prize in the competition, which moved online this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The team, consisting of Fatih Aksel, Hazel Aksel and Jeffrey Raugh, created an online platform where parents can share and discover creative project ideas to engage and entertain their children.
Entrants were challenged to “build something for the Buffalo community.” The competition drew about 200 participants, and a total of $15,000 in prize money was distributed.
Code:Buffalo is hosted by 43North in partnership with Techstars, ACV Auctions, M&T Bank and the University at Buffalo.
