Program will target successful Western New York expatriates through an exciting
blend of seminars, discussions, tours, networking, and entertainment to
reconnect attendees with their hometown and spur engagement in its resurgence.
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Today 43North joined Buffalo Business First, Buffalo’s leading business media company and part of American City Business Journals, to announce “Buffalo Homecoming,” a community-based initiative to engage a network of Buffalo expatriates who have found success outside of their hometown. The marquee, three-day homecoming event is slated for Sept. 11-13, 2019, and will reconnect expatriates with Western New York through a series of events and activities, while encouraging them to rediscover and reinvest in the region.
In its inaugural year, Buffalo Homecoming will seek to identify and bring between 100 and 150 accomplished expats back to the region to highlight local revitalization efforts and investment opportunities through unique programs, panels, speeches, tours, and mixers that showcase business, real estate development, start-up, commercial, and philanthropic endeavors. Buffalo Homecoming is an opportunity for expats to learn how they can connect their talents, expertise, and resources to benefit Buffalo.
“Buffalo Business First is honored to help spearhead the inaugural Buffalo Homecoming effort and we’re extremely grateful to all those sponsors who have already stepped up to support this worthy initiative,” said John Tebeau, Publisher, Buffalo Business First. “We believe this event will be a dynamic way to reconnect former Western New Yorkers to the people and projects that are shaping Buffalo’s future and making it a better place to live and work. After participants experience Buffalo Homecoming, we are confident that they’ll also be inspired to assist and contribute in fueling the area’s resurgence.”
The overall mission of Buffalo Homecoming is to build a network of accomplished expatriates and maintain connections within this group to help spur the region’s ongoing vitality. Target industry experts, innovators, artists, business leaders, and more will be invited as participants, to deepen existing personal ties to the region and expand the understanding of needs and opportunities within the area. With a target invitation list cultivated by rigorous research, the invitation-only event will focus on individuals in a position to contribute to the economic growth and well-being of the region. This “Invitation to Invest” will include specific opportunities along with contact information, and be provided to all attendees to spark new partnerships, investments, and collaborations.
Buffalo Homecoming will track and report expatriate engagement and any business expansions, relocation, investments, new ventures, real estate purchases, and other activities that take place as a result of the initiative.
